The plant is a slaughter house turned sustainable organization that promotes vegan and sustainable lifestyles. They are supported by Plant Chicago, a non-profit organization established in 2011 by John Edel. The plant focuses cultivating local circular economies which means repurposing what most people might simply consider waste that nothing more could be done and use it for something else in the production line.
The Plant strives to make the community rethink their mindset about the food they eat and the environment we all live in. The plant is a very impactful place and truly makes their visitors think about the possibilities of more green and sustainable cities. Our Experience
Meeting with Carolee Kokola, the lead engineering director of the Plant, was such a lovely experience with our crew. We had the behind the scenes look on the Plant, the way in which it was founded, and how it works as a whole. Kokola gave great insight of just how interactive this facility is with the entire community.
